About Us
Human Services Department is responsible for planning and managing certain government funded programs in mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities.
The department writes state grant applications and contracts for purchase of services from local providers or agencies, then monitors and evaluates the providers for contractual compliance. Each of the three advisory boards is comprised of citizens appointed by the
Board of Commissioners. Each board, respectively, identifies service needs in
the areas of substance abuse, developmental disabilities, and mental health, develops responsive service plans, and assists in the implementation of the
plans.
